Clear resin

Glass-like clarity when polished; flow visualization and light parts.

What is Clear resin?

Clear resins achieve a glass-like appearance with sanding and polishing or varnish. They are used for prototypes that need to show the inside of fluid channels, light guides and lens prototypes.

Frequently asked questions about Clear resin

What is Clear resin?

Clear resins achieve a glass-like appearance with sanding and polishing or varnish. They are used for prototypes that need to show the inside of fluid channels, light guides and lens prototypes.

Is Clear resin heat resistant?

The heat deflection temperature (0.45 MPa) of Clear resin is about 70 °C. This is moderate; enough for everyday use and warm environments.

Can Clear resin be used outdoors?

It can degrade under prolonged sunlight and UV light. For outdoor use, ASA or another UV-resistant material should be preferred.

Which parts are made with Clear resin?

Clear resin is typically used in applications such as prototypes with fluid channels, light guides and diffusers, lens and cover prototypes.

Which material can be used instead of Clear resin?

Depending on the application, PC, PETG, Standard resin can be alternatives. You can see the differences in the comparison tables on the material pages.
