PETG filament

Durable, resistant to chemicals and water; ideal for everyday use.

Sample part made from PETGMost popular

What is PETG?

PETG is made from heat-treated PET plastic. It is known for its durability, transparency, impact and chemical resistance. Thanks to its scratch resistance, it is one of the most balanced choices for functional parts.

Drying at 65 °C for more than 3 hours before printing is recommended.

  • Chemical resistant
  • Transparent
  • Economical
  • Food-contact grades available
  • Durable and flexible

Its high elongation lets it bend without breaking; safe for functional parts that take impacts.

  • Water and chemical resistance

Resists moisture, water and many chemicals; suitable for parts working in humid environments.

  • Transparent option

Clear and translucent colors for covers, enclosures and light-transmitting parts.

  • Everyday use

Prints as easily as PLA and is much more durable; the balanced choice for functional prototypes.

Frequently asked questions about PETG

What is PETG?

PETG is made from heat-treated PET plastic. It is known for its durability, transparency, impact and chemical resistance. Thanks to its scratch resistance, it is one of the most balanced choices for functional parts.

Is PETG heat resistant?

The heat deflection temperature (0.45 MPa) of PETG is about 64 °C. This is moderate; enough for everyday use and warm environments.

Can PETG be used outdoors?

It usually performs well in short and medium-term outdoor use; for parts exposed to direct sunlight for long periods, UV-resistant materials such as ASA are a better fit.

Which parts are made with PETG?

PETG is typically used in applications such as functional parts and brackets, enclosures and boxes, parts working in humid environments, mechanical prototypes.

Which material can be used instead of PETG?

Depending on the application, PLA, ABS, ASA can be alternatives. You can see the differences in the comparison tables on the material pages.
