PPA-CF filament
The high-temperature class of the nylon family; a rigid composite that replaces metal.

What is PPA-CF?
Thanks to its aromatic structure, polyphthalamide (PPA) offers higher heat resistance and lower moisture absorption than standard nylon. With carbon fiber reinforcement it is a suitable engineering composite for under-the-hood parts, high-temperature fixtures and lightweight metal replacements.

Frequently asked questions about PPA-CF
What is PPA-CF?
Thanks to its aromatic structure, polyphthalamide (PPA) offers higher heat resistance and lower moisture absorption than standard nylon. With carbon fiber reinforcement it is a suitable engineering composite for under-the-hood parts, high-temperature fixtures and lightweight metal replacements.
Is PPA-CF heat resistant?
The heat deflection temperature (0.45 MPa) of PPA-CF is about 220 °C. This is very high; suitable for demanding thermal environments.
Can PPA-CF be used outdoors?
It usually performs well in short and medium-term outdoor use; for parts exposed to direct sunlight for long periods, UV-resistant materials such as ASA are a better fit.
Which parts are made with PPA-CF?
PPA-CF is typically used in applications such as under-the-hood parts, high-temperature fixtures, lightweight structural brackets.
Which material can be used instead of PPA-CF?
Depending on the application, PA-CF, PPS-CF, PEEK can be alternatives. You can see the differences in the comparison tables on the material pages.
