PA-CF filament
An industrial filament combining nylon's toughness with carbon fiber's stiffness.

What is PA-CF?
PA-CF is polyamide reinforced with chopped carbon fiber. It is much stiffer and more dimensionally stable than unreinforced nylon, and its heat resistance increases significantly. It is often used for fixtures, jigs, robot grippers and lightweight structural parts that replace metal.

Frequently asked questions about PA-CF
What is PA-CF?
PA-CF is polyamide reinforced with chopped carbon fiber. It is much stiffer and more dimensionally stable than unreinforced nylon, and its heat resistance increases significantly. It is often used for fixtures, jigs, robot grippers and lightweight structural parts that replace metal.
Is PA-CF heat resistant?
The heat deflection temperature (0.45 MPa) of PA-CF is about 160 °C. This is high; it can be used near engine bays, in hot air and steam.
Can PA-CF be used outdoors?
It usually performs well in short and medium-term outdoor use; for parts exposed to direct sunlight for long periods, UV-resistant materials such as ASA are a better fit.
Which parts are made with PA-CF?
PA-CF is typically used in applications such as fixtures and assembly tooling, robot gripper fingers, drone and automotive structural parts, metal part replacement.
Which material can be used instead of PA-CF?
Depending on the application, PPA-CF, ABS (CF · GF), PA12 CF can be alternatives. You can see the differences in the comparison tables on the material pages.
