What is multicolor FDM?

In multicolor FDM, the printer switches between filaments of different colors during printing. The colors are formed in the part itself; no painting, masking or gluing is needed afterwards. At TAİ Robotik we print up to 8 colors in a single print.

Why is it better than painting?

Paint can wear, scratch or peel over time. In multicolor printing the color is in the material. And because painting labor is eliminated, lead time is shorter and cost is lower.

Where is it used?

  • Architectural and product models
  • Figures and collectibles
  • Parts with logos, labels and text
  • Educational and presentation models
  • Color-coded assembly and maintenance parts

Design tips

To get crisp color transitions in the body of the part, simply define the color regions as separate bodies in your model. When you send your file, our engineers check the color separation and adjust it with you if needed.
