Why 3D printing for automotive?

In automotive, development time and line efficiency are everything. 3D printing lets you test design validation parts without waiting for molds, quickly produce ergonomic fixtures and tools for the assembly line, and bring back discontinued parts through reverse engineering.

  • Fast validationPrototypes for assembly and fit checks within days.
  • Line efficiencyLightweight, ergonomic, purpose-built fixtures, jigs and tools.
  • Durable materialsEngineering plastics that withstand heat, sunlight and vibration.
  • Spare partsScan and reproduce parts that are no longer made.

Good to know

Automotive: frequently asked questions

Which material is right for parts exposed to sunlight and heat?

ASA is a good starting point for outdoor and UV exposure; PC, PC-ABS or carbon fiber reinforced nylon for heat resistance. Share the operating conditions and we will choose together.

I only have the old part, no drawing. Can you reproduce it?

Yes. With reverse engineering we scan and measure the part, create a production-ready 3D model and then produce it.

How durable are the line fixtures?

We produce lightweight, rigid fixtures with carbon fiber reinforced materials. We define the material and design together based on load and operating conditions.
